Dealing With Rusty Bins
Another common problem with grain bins is rust.  Ring or panel replacement is very complicated and expensive.  Rust, when left untreated, causes bins to weaken and sometimes fail.  We routinely repair rust damage due to failed sealants and water intrusion.  Unlike typlical hot dip galvanizing, we use a system where the bin stays intact and a cold-process regalvanizing is utilized.  Once the surface is thoroughly prepared, we apply a low viscosity product that attacks any remaining traces of rust, seals the metal from any further damage and leaves it more resistant to corrosion in the future than the original galvanizing.  Below are some examples of the before and after of this process.
